FLORES DESHIDRATADAS / DRIED FLOWERS Las flores secas son una buena alternativa para introducir un “toque” diferente en el hogar. Mucha gente piensa que el mantener la flor en un cuarto oscuro hará que su color natural no se pierda tanto, como sucedería si se dejara expuesta a la luz solar, pero se puede obtener un buen resultado al colgar la flor al sol, porque se logra un secado rápido que evita el desteñido. Entre las flores que se pueden deshidratar, está el eucalipto, las rosas, static, inmortal, limonium, girasoles y hawaiana.En lo que se refiere a las rosas, cualquier color se puede deshidratar fácilmente, pero cuando son rojas hay que procurar escoger una que sea clara, para que al momento de secarse no quede muy oscura, sino que siga conservando su tonalidad rojiza.Se recomienda ademas que para secar el girasol no es necesario colgarlo; se puede colocar de manera horizontal sobre una superficie y dejar que se deshidrate.El girasol deshidratado luce mucho en adornos florales, sobre todo al quitarle los pétalos; el centro puede servir como complemento de un adorno floral.Para deshidratar una flor, es necesario limpiarle primero el tallo para quitarle el exceso de agua. Esto evita que el tallo se pudra, pierda su fuerza y no pueda insertarse en un arreglo.Otro método más sencillo es mediante un spray especial para deshidratar flores, con el cual el trabajo se simplifica más. Con el spray, las flores pueden deshidratarse en 15 días, y sólo se tiene que rociar muy bien sobre las flores o follaje que se quieran deshidratar y colgarlas de su tallo.
